"Let's Celebrate Our Honored Members"

The following Awards will be presented at the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc., 2026 National Convention. These awards recognize and honor our members’ accomplishments. Submit your nomination to celebrate our achievements. Only one award can be given for each category.

All submissions must include a 75 to 100 Word Essay in recognition of the nominee. Submit all requests to [email protected] by or before 11:59 pm on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Awards

Service Award: Recognizes a National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. member for outstanding service, commitment, and dedication to veterans, their families, and the community through volunteerism, advocacy, mentorship, and organizational support.

Leadership Award: Honors a National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, professionalism, and the ability to inspire others while advancing the mission and objectives of the organization and supporting veterans’ causes.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Celebrates a member whose lifelong dedication, sacrifice, and sustained contributions have significantly impacted veterans, communities, and National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. through years of distinguished service and advocacy.

Outstanding Chapter Award: Recognizes a National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. chapter that has made substantial contributions to the organization’s mission through community outreach, veteran services, membership engagement, advocacy efforts, and program development.

Outstanding VSO Award: Honors the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. Veteran Service Officer (VSO) who has demonstrated excellence in advocating for veterans’ rights, benefits, claims assistance, and access to resources while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service.

Community Impact Award: Recognizes a member whose efforts have significantly contributed to the advancement, visibility, and development of the organization’s mission through meaningful community engagement, partnerships, outreach initiatives, and public service.

Please provide a detailed description of the nominee’s accomplishments, leadership, service, and contributions to National Association for Black Veterans, Inc., veterans, and the community. Include specific examples of programs, initiatives, advocacy efforts, volunteer activities, mentorship, organizational leadership, or measurable impacts that demonstrate why the nominee deserves recognition. You may also include information regarding years of service, chapter involvement, community partnerships, professional achievements, and any extraordinary efforts that exemplify dedication to the mission of supporting and uplifting veterans and underserved communities.
