The National Association for Black Veterans (NABVETS) invites designers of all experiencelevels to help shape the future of one of America’s premier Veteran Service Organizations.The goal is to create a high-quality, scalable logo system that reflects thmission of NABVETS. Previous logos are grandfathered for the purpose of historical value and legacy.
This is your opportunity to create a logo that will represent a national organization serving veterans across the United States. Your design could appear on:

The selected designer will create a complete logo package consisting of the following brand variations: (current logo is attached as the letter head for your reference)
1. Primary Logo
The main official logo represents NABVETS branding across national communications, events, and official materials.
2. Stack / Secondary Logo
A stacked variation designed for alternate placement, promotional materials, and limited-space applications.
3. Wordmark Logo
A text-focused version emphasizing the NABVETS name for digital and print branding.
4. Submark / Icon Logo
A simplified emblem or symbol version suitable for social media, merchandise, coins, apparel, and small-format applications.
Design submissions should consider multiple applications including:
The final selected design must be delivered in a professional digital vector format to allow resizing without loss of quality.
The Office of the National Commander has established a design budget of:
$500 Prize Award OR $500 Gift Card Award (TBD by National Commander).
The winning designer will receive the selected compensation option determined by the Office of the National Commander.
The winning logo design will be resized and adapted for consideration as a:
NABVETS National Commander Coin (if selected and formatted) for distribution beginning in 2026 and forward, at the discretion and approval of the current National Commander.
The selected design may become a lasting symbol representing national leadership recognition and NABVETS legacy.

The winner will be recognized by the Office of the National Commander and announced through official NABVETS communication channels.
By submitting a design, the participant acknowledges that the selected winning design will become the property of NABVETS for official organizational use, branding, reproduction, modification, and future applications. The designer agrees to provide necessary files, permissions and authorship rights required for official NABVETS usage.
