Vietnam War Commemoration

Starr, SC, April 15, 2017: NABVETS, INC. Operational Headquarters, along with the 82nd Airborne Association, the 173rd Airborne Association, and other Veteran Service Organizations, join the Unites States of America Vietnam War Commemoration program in honoring and thanking our Vietnam Veterans, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action, and their families for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States at the Vietnam War Commemoration event on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm EST at the Kingdom Vision Worship Center at 1221 Good Hope Church Road, Starr, SC.

NABVETS, INC. Operational Headquarters invites all Veterans, their families, clergy, community leaders, active duty personnel and those who support and help our Veterans to join us as we recognize all men and women who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Nine million Americans served during that period, and the commemoration makes no distinction between Veterans who served in-country, in-theater or were stationed elsewhere during those 20 years. All answered the call of duty, and we honor them, and their families, for their service and sacrifice.

One Comment On “2017 Vietnam War Commemoration”

  1. This was an awesome eye opening event for my wife and myself. Traveling from Fayetteville, NC, to a place called Starr, SC (never heard of Starr before this trip). NABVETS National Commander Kornegay gave an update and overview of what NABVETS is doing and where we hope to go in the future. We need all hands on deck to accomplish our mission and vision. My wife and I really enjoyed the get-away.

Our guest speaker was BG (Ret) James R. Gorham; and, what a testimony – from sharecropper’s son to the first Black General in the NC National Guard because “one man” saw something in him and took the time to make a difference in his life. This was the message I took away from his testimony, “Men, take the time to make a difference in someone’s life,” be it your children and/or find someone to mentor.

Before the meeting was over all veterans and family members in attendance were recognized for their military service, support and their loss of family members in support of this great nation.

We had great food and fellowship.

I wish more NABVETS members could have attended this Saturday event.
